PIAC Forum: NAIDOC 2020 – In conversation with Yvonne Weldon
Join us for a very special zoom event in acknowledgement of NAIDOC Week 2020. Wiradjuri woman Kishaya Delaney from PIAC’s Towards Truth project will be in conversation with Wiradjuri woman and Chairperson of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, Yvonne Weldon, as they discuss Australia’s First Nations movements for change, and the confronting truth about Aboriginal deaths in custody and incarceration.

Yvonne Weldon
Yvonne Weldon is a proud Wiradjuri woman with strong ties to her homelands of Cowra and the Riverina areas in New South Wales. From a young age Yvonne has maintained a strong passion and commitment to bringing about positive change for Aboriginal people and communities. Yvonne is the current elected Chairperson of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.
Kishaya Delaney
Kishaya Delaney is a proud Wiradjuri woman from Orange NSW, who has recently finished a combined Bachelor of Communication/Law (Honours). Kishaya is the Project Officer on PIAC’s Towards Truthproject, which will provide an accurate, detailed map of the ways in which Australian laws and policies have impacted upon the lives of First Nations people throughout Australian history.
