JEC wins award for housing and mental ill-health lived experience committee

We are delighted that our work embedding lived experience in the Housing and Mental Health Agreement (HMHA) has been recognised by The Mental Health Service Awards of Australia and New Zealand.

Accepting the award on behalf of the HMHA Lived Experience Committee, Project Officer Charmaine Jones said: ‘This award is recognition of the hard work and generosity of our lived experience advocates.’

‘Their stories and expertise guide the implementation of the agreement, securing better outcomes for people with mental health conditions experiencing homelessness and those navigating the social housing system.’

Since 2023, the HMHA Lived Experience Committee has amplified the voices of people with experience of mental ill-health, homelessness and social housing.
