Mitchell is responsible for work within the Justice and Equity Centre’s NDIS strategic litigation practice, leading a project designed to advocate for fairer decision-making outcomes and policies for NDIS recipients in relation to housing and supported accommodation. He joined the Justice and Equity Centre in September 2021.
Mitchell’s professional experience has centred on assisting marginalised communities and groups obtain fair and just treatment from governmental bodies. He has previously worked in refugee law at the Refugee Advice and Casework Service, overseeing casework, law reform, and litigation matters, as well as administering a multi-disciplinary practice in conjunction with social work, health and employment professionals from the Asylum Seekers Centre to deliver holistic outcomes for people seeking asylum.
Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International and Global Studies from the University of Sydney.
