PIAC’s submission to the NSW Government’s Homelessness Strategy consultation calls for the Government to report publicly against specific measurable targets for reduction in homelessness over the next 5 years.

In a detailed submission to the Department of Family and Community Services regarding its discussion paper, Foundations for change – Homelessness in NSWPIAC identified that three key actions are core to the foundations for change to address homelessness in NSW

  • Create specific, measurable targets for reduction in homelessness over 5 years;
  • Significantly increase the availability of crisis accommodation;
  • Significantly increase the availability of affordable and social housing.
