PIAC responded to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s (IPART) Discussion Paper, Encouraging innovation in the water sector.
PIAC supported the scope of proposals contained in the Paper and the intent to undertake structural reform of water regulation.
PIAC commented in detail on IPART’s proposals and made recommendations to more explicitly direct water supply businesses to incorporate proposals into long-term planning. We highlighted opportunities for better structural links with other regulating agencies, and policies impacting businesses.
