Submission to the Review of Local Water Utilities Funding Models

The JEC provided a submission in response to NSW DCCEEW’s review of the NSW Productivity and Equality Commission’s report on local water utilities funding models.

The JEC highlighted the inconsistency of access to affordable water services across NSW as a result of different regulatory requirements, business settings and government support. We recommended that more sustainable funding for LWUs must come with more transparent and consistent regulatory oversight, particularly including more consistent consumer assistance and supports for all NSW households to access affordable water services.
