Submission to Review of AI and the Australian Consumer Law

The Justice and Equity Centre co-signed a joint consumer response to the Commonwealth Treasury’s Review of Artificial Intelligence and the Australian Consumer Law.

Our submission provided emerging examples of consumer harm from the use of AI across different industries, including in the energy retail sector. The submission provided Treasury with a series of recommendations to ensure ACL aligns with consumer expectations on how businesses should use AI to avoid consumer harm.
