PIAC made a submission to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment’s Consultation Draft of the Regulatory Framework for Local Water Utilities (the Draft).

We supported the Draft, highlighting the greater transparency and consistency it introduces to regulation and support of Local Water Utilities. We agreed the Draft makes important improvements supporting more sustainable and affordable access to water for communities across regional NSW.

PIAC advocated for consumers during the formulation of the Draft through being involved in focus groups for the Town Water Risk Reduction Program (TWRRP), providing direct feedback to TWRRP staff and completing an online survey that accompanied the Draft.
