Submission

PIAC provided a short submission to the NSW Parliamentary Committee examining implementation of the NDIS. This included expressing support for the role of specialist, independent disability advocacy organisations.

While the NSW Government recently committed to funding disability advocacy for another two years (until mid-2020) the long-term future of these organisations remains in doubt.

PIAC called on the Committee to recommend that the Government provide ongoing funding for disability advocacy, information and representation organisations in NSW as part of the continued implementation of the NDIS.
