Submission to non-scheduled generation and load in central dispatch draft determination

PIAC responded to the AEMC’s draft determination on the non-scheduled generation and load in central dispatch. PIAC supports the AEMC’s draft determination not to make a rule as the proposal would result in minimal benefits and would not outweigh the costs on parties of implementation. More broadly, PIAC supports other measures for more efficient wholesale market operation which would have greater, more lasting impacts on market outcomes such as by better integrating demand response and storage into the wholesale market and unlocking their multiple benefits streams.
