Submission to AER Revised Draft Determination on the Value of Customer Reliability (VCR) Methodology

The JEC made a submission on the Australian Energy Regulator’s revised draft determination on the Value of Customer Reliability (VCR) Methodology.

The VCR has enormous impacts on the energy prices NSW households pay through a range of channels.

We reiterated our opposition to the AER’s decision to continue to rely on surveys alone to gauge consumers’ preferences regarding the trade-offs between energy reliability and energy costs.

We also proposed adding questions relating to consumers’ energy consumption behaviours, and removing extraneous information from the AER’s proposed questionnaires.
