Submission

PIAC provided a response to AEMO’s Draft 2023 Inputs, Assumptions and Scenarios Report Consultation process. AEMO sought feedback on the inputs, assumptions and scenarios that it proposes to use in its 2023-24 forecasting and planning activities, including the 2024 ISP.

Our submission strongly rejected the inclusion of the 2.6°C Progressive Change scenario (2.6 C scenario), arguing that it is not justified, fails to deliver on Australia’s climate commitments and should be removed. We recommended that only scenarios that align with viable responses supporting our climate targets should be considered. We also raised concerned with implausible and inconsistent assumptions about the role of hydrogen.
