Submission on National Energy Retail Amendment (Strengthening protections for customers requiring life support equipment) Rule 2017

PIAC responded to the AEMC’s Rule Change Consultation Paper on Strengthening protections for customers requiring life support equipment at home. PIAC supports the change. However, PIAC suggests it include the following:

  • Make the rule retrospective
  • That retailers must ask new consumers whether life support equipment is required in the home
  • That the deregistration process includes information about how to get back on the life support register
