PIAC lodged a submission in response to IPART’s draft determination on Essential Energy’s prices for water and sewerage services in Broken Hill.

PIAC broadly supports the draft determination, and welcomes the strong focus on maintaining equity and affordability of access to water services for the community. PIAC agreed with the opportunities taken to improve cost reflectivity, but highlighted the need for future processes to address the significant and escalating impact of climate change and the overall water resource scarcity in the Murray Darling Basin, as a matter of priority.
