PIAC responded to an AEMC approach paper initiating a review into generation and transmission investment. PIAC supports more efficient wholesale market and network arrangements, that lower costs for consumers. PIAC supported the AEMC in investigating most issues and options put forward. However, PIAC does not support building out all network congestion or implementing new reliability standards on the basis that they were inefficiently increase costs passed on to consumers.
