Submission
PIAC made a submission in response to IPART’s Monitoring the retail energy markets 2019/20. This regular review is a vital examination of the functioning of the electricity market and how it is working for NSW consumers. PIAC commends IPART that this year’s review provides better insight and analysis than previous reviews.

In this submission, PIAC comments on particular aspects in the review, including:
  • consumer supports, particularly in the context of Covid-19;
  • the Default Market Offer;
  • embedded networks; and
  • general competition issues including product differentiation and switching.
