AEMO participant fee structure

PIAC responded to the Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) review of its energy market participant fee structure.

We provide comment on the duration of the participant fee structure, recommending it is reviewed in 3 rather than 5 years, given the level of change and uncertainty in the energy market. We also provide feedback on the fee structure principles, advocating for efficiency and fairness over simplicity, and raise concern over how the costs from the DER integration workstream will be allocated.
