PIAC responded to the King Review Safeguard Crediting Mechanism Discussion Paper and strongly recommended any proposed crediting mechanism be implemented as part of an objective-focussed, strategic approach to emissions reduction, co-ordinated across the economy.
PIAC recommended more appropriate objectives for a potential Crediting Mechanism, as well providing specific feedback on improvements to emissions intensity reference points, emissions intensity calculation adjustments and the treatment of new facilities.
