Senior Solicitor, Strategic Litigation

Nicola is a Senior Solicitor in the Strategic Litigation team, having joined the Justice and Equity Centre in 2025. Nicola works on our disability rights and policing and detention projects.
Previously Nicola was a Senior Lawyer in the Disputes Resolution team at the Australian Government Solicitor, advising federal law enforcement and national security agencies in litigation concerning high-risk terrorist offenders, agencies’ use of investigative powers, administrative law and information protection.
Nicola was the Team Leader of AGS’s inaugural Homeless Persons’ Legal Service Clinic in partnership with the JEC. Nicola was previously a Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and an Associate at Allens. Through Allens’ pro bono practice, she completed a six-month secondment to the Refugee Advice and Casework Service and assisted the firm to establish its Women at Risk Clinic.
Nicola has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney. In 2025, Nicola graduated from Leiden University with an Advanced Master in Public International Law specialising in international human rights and sustainable development. During her Master of Law studies, Nicola was a Research Assistant with strategic human rights litigation firm, Human Rights in Practice.
