Board member since November 2025

Ali Rahman is the National Clinical Manager of Multicultural Practice at headspace, Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to children and young people.

Ali also serves on the Governance Committee of the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative, a national body led by the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) that advises on policy, strengthens health equity for multicultural communities, and guides cross-sector reform.

A registered psychologist with extensive experience in mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) support, he has led national initiatives to strengthen cultural capability, embed co-design, and ensure migrant and refugee voices are central to service design and policy.

Ali’s leadership spans workforce development, clinical and cultural governance, and cross-sector collaboration, translating community insights into systemic change. He is committed to ensuring mental health systems are inclusive, culturally safe, and shaped by the communities they serve. Passionate about representation and equity, Ali works to bring marginalised community voices to decision-making tables, bridging the gap between lived experience and policy to create lasting, meaningful impact.
