ABC Radio National: Broken Hill residents “lose trust” in power grid

Residents in Western New South Wales say they’ve lost trust in their electricity supply after multiple power failures.

A storm last Wednesday took out electricity towers near Broken Hill, and then both the city’s backup diesel generators failed.

Craig Memery, a Senior Advisor in our Energy and Water Justice team, says the incident shows the need for urgent upgrades in the energy grid.
