Managing Lawyer, Homeless Persons' Legal Service

Wes joined the Justice and Equity Centre as the Managing Lawyer of the Homeless Persons’ Legal Service in March 2024. Wes manages a multi-disciplinary team and pro bono lawyers from external firms to provide a legal service to members of the community who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.    

Throughout his career as a solicitor and barrister in NSW, Wes has passionately advocated on behalf of people who are marginalised or severely disadvantaged. Wes also has a long history of working within First Nations’ communities, both in urban and remote locations, through his work the Aboriginal Legal Service.

Wes has held numerous roles in legal management, including as Managing Lawyer of the Redfern Aboriginal Legal Service, Deputy Principal Legal Officer Aboriginal Legal Service, and Proprietor and Principal Solicitor of practice Doyle, Kingston and Swift.

Wes holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tasmania.
