Thea Bray

Senior Policy Officer, Energy and Water Justice

Thea works in the Justice and Equity Centre’s Energy and Water Justice (EWJ) Team focusing on protections for people experiencing disadvantage and working to ensure all households can easily access affordable and sustainable energy and water services. She also conducts research projects for EWJ, exploring issues such as disconnection and affordability.

Before joining us in 2017, Thea worked on climate and sustainability policy and campaigns as well as household energy and water reduction project design and implementation.

This included working as a Project Manager at Low Energy Supplies and Services, designing and implementing energy and water saving projects for governments and utility providers across Australia. Most of these projects focussed on households with low incomes and other vulnerabilities.

Thea was also a Project Manager at the Environment Centre of the Northern Territory where she developed climate policy, campaigned on climate issues and designed and implemented community engagement projects to help households and schools reduce their contribution to climate change.

Thea has a Bachelor of Economics (Social Science) from the University of Sydney, majoring in political economy and government.
