Rachael Barwick

Senior Solicitor, HPLS Women’s Service

Rachael joined the Justice and Equity Centre as the Senior Solicitor in the Homeless Persons’ Legal Service Women’s Service in November 2023. In this role, Rachael works to improve the experience of women experiencing or at risk of homelessness by providing a trauma-informed legal service. Rachael manages a multi-disciplinary team and pro bono lawyers from external firms to provide a service that gives essential legal support and empowers women to understand their rights. 

Previously,  Rachael worked as the Managing Solicitor of the Youth Crime Team at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency in Darwin, NT. Rachael has also worked as a solicitor for the NSW native title service provider NTSCORP Limited, the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) and the Environmental Defenders Office. 

Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws and International Studies from Macquarie University.
