Grace Gooley

Senior Solicitor, Strategic Litigation

Grace is a Senior Solicitor in the Justice and Equity Centre’s Strategic Litigation team and joined the organisation in 2021. 

Grace works to improve police accountability and conditions for people in detention, leading our Asylum Seeker Rights project. 

Before joining the Justice and Equity Centre, Grace was a lawyer in the Class Actions team at a commercial law firm, investigating and instructing on large scale litigation against multinational corporations and government departments. 

Prior to this, Grace worked in migration and refugee law, advocating for asylum seekers who were applying for protection visas. As a legal intern, Grace assisted the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) in its response to the Northern Territory Royal Commission into Child Protection and Youth Detention.

Grace has a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney.
