Disability discrimination

People with disability have the right to full participation in our community, without discrimination.

Our leading discrimination law practice has a history of running successful test cases for people with disability,  securing more equal access to services including education, public transport, digital and emerging technologies.

We represent people with disability who have experienced discrimination to seek justice and challenge the harmful policies and practices underpinning the discrimination, with widespread benefits for the disability community.

For example, our work with disability advocates has made travel on Sydney trains more accessible, supported kids with disability to stay at their chosen school, and improved the insurance system for people who have experienced mental ill-health.

Our priorities are informed by people with disability: our clients and the disability rights organisations and advocates we partner with.

Our current priorities include:

  • ensuring air travel is accessible to all people with disability, including as a member of the Aviation Accessibility Steering Committee for the development of a Disability Standard for air travel;
  • improving accessibility of public transport, including taxi and rideshare services; and
  • advocating for discrimination law reform to better advance the rights of people with disability to participate in all aspects of social and political life.
