Submission to DCCEEW Aggregated resources in the Capacity Investment Scheme

The JEC made a submission to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s (DCCEEW) consultation paper on aggregated resources in the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).

We support the Department’s ambition to expand the CIS to aggregated resources as we believe that expanded competition will reduce auction and energy prices for consumers.

We propose reducing the capacity threshold for eligible bids from 30MW to 1MW, in line with the minimum dispatchable quantity allowed in the Wholesale Demand Response Mechanism.
