Petra Franks

Solicitor

Petra is a long-term secondee from Moray and Agnew Lawyers, working in our Strategic litigation team. Petra’s work challenges discriminatory policing of First Nations communities and advocates for better treatment of young people in youth detention centres in NSW.

Petra also provides legal support to the Energy and Water Justice team, contributing to legal and policy solutions to energy inequality, and research support to Towards Truth.

Prior to joining the Justice and Equity Centre, Petra was a legal officer at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, providing advice on environment and energy law.

Petra has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Social Research and Policy Development with a major in Indigenous Studies from the University of New South Wales and was admitted as a solicitor in 2022.

Petra is a proud Dharug woman. She lives on Country with her wife and cats.
