Emily joined the Justice and Equity Centre in 2023. Emily is a campaigner, organiser, communicator, and strategist.
Her background includes work in the community sector, and a long career as a leading organiser in the union movement. Many of her years in the union movement involved organising and campaigning for equal pay and workplace gender equality and she was a key organiser in the successful Australian Services Union equal pay campaign for community workers.
Emily is also a feminist and social justice campaigner and activist. She led the 2019 tipping-point campaign, #ArrestUs, to win decriminalisation of reproductive rights for people who can become pregnant in NSW. She was one of the founders of Destroy the Joint on Facebook.
Many years ago, she worked Youth Detention Centres in NSW running arts programs. Emily is now a mum to a ten-year-old.
