PIAC made a submission to the AEMC’s review into consumer energy resources technical standards (the Review). The Review sought to help enable the integration of Distributed Energy Resources/Consumer Energy Resources (DER/CER) to support the long-term interests of consumers.

PIAC supported the objective and scope of the Review and provided further comment on how long-term interests of consumers should best be defined and implemented. This included discussion on more effective enforcement of responsibilities, better focus on delivering consumer outcomes, and ensuring the review delivers improvements simpler and more consistent CER standard compliance supporting consumer and system safety, reliability and efficiency.
