Submission to AER Draft decision 2024-29 revenue determinations: Ausgrid, Endeavour, and Essential Energy

PIAC responded to the AER Draft Decision on the 2024-29 revenue determinations for Ausgrid, Endeavour, and Essential Energy.

In this submission we identify broad areas for improvement to strengthen consumer engagement processes and comment on key issues across the 2024-29 determinations such as consumer energy resources, climate resilience, innovation, two-way pricing, and metering. This submission builds on our response to the issues paper to encourage networks to develop high quality proposals through genuine engagement with consumers.

We respond to the draft determinations relating to each of the NSW distributors, focussing on outstanding issues for each and provide advice to promote the long-term interest of NSW energy consumers. We also outline recommendations for network businesses and regulators with the aim of embedding more transparent, inclusive, and meaningful consumer engagement into ongoing programs and practices.
