PIAC provided a response to the Australian Energy Regulator’s Ring-Fencing Guideline (Electricity Transmission) Review. The Review sought to ensure the Guideline remains fit-for-purpose throughout the ongoing transformation of Australia’s energy system.

PIAC supports the AER updating the guideline. We argued that changes to the guideline should prioritise outcomes for consumers and that this could be done by strengthening legal separations, committing to transparency of costs and benefits, and implementing compliance measures.
