Submission to the National Electricity Amendment -Recovering the Costs of AEMO’s Participant Fees

PIAC made a submission to AEMO’s Consultation Paper (the Paper) on the proposed amendment to how AEMO’s participant fees are recovered. The Paper proposed enabling AEMO’s costs to be passed directly through to consumers without any substantial review for efficiency.

PIAC did not support the proposal as it does not support the long-term interests of consumers in ensuring all costs recovered from consumers are necessary, efficient and transparent.
