PIAC made a submission to the Energy Security Board’s Data Strategy – Initial Reforms Consultation Paper.

In this submission we highlighted our concerns with the Paper’s assumption that barriers to data transfer are problems to be overcome, rather than oftentimes important consumer protections. We provided recommendations on how the ESB could implement data reform for a changing energy system while maintaining consumer data protection, including disclosure to Class A & B bodies and robust conditions for disclosure.
