Alexandra Shehadie

Alexandra (Alex) Shehadie is a nationally respected expert in organisational culture and integrity, with over two decades of experience advising Australian institutions on systemic reform, accountability, and the prevention of harm. She is recognised for her work leading major reviews into workplace culture, through the lens of sexual violence, sexual harassment, bullying, and discrimination .

Alex has held leadership roles in high-impact cultural reviews for many significant Australian insitutions, including: Australian Federal Police, the Australian Defence Force, Qantas, the NSW Parliament, Rio Tinto, the Victorian Courts, the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health,  the Sydney Sympony Orchestra and NIDA. She has been a strategic adviser to DFAT and the High Court of Australia.

Alex also led the landmark Raising Their Voices review into sexual harm in the Australian contemporary music industry, the findings and recommendations of which influenced national cultural policy. She has advised NATO on gender, peace, and security issues. She also gave expert testimony to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.

She has worked as a solicitor with the Legal Aid Commission and Macquarie Legal Centre, a Ministerial Adviser (Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Disability and Ageing)  and a senior public servant.

Alex holds bachelor degrees in Arts and Law, and a Masters degree in Public Administration and Policy. She has served as Chair of the Board of Guthrie House, a residential program for women exiting prison.
