Submission to Rule Change: Allowing AEMO to accept cash as credit support

The JEC provided a submission in response to the AEMC consultation paper on a proposed rule change to allow AEMO to accept cash as credit support.

The JEC highlighted that the priority when considering the rule change should be to minimise any unreasonable risk or cost impact for consumers, particularly considering consumers inability to mitigate the risk of defaults. Should the rule change progress, we provided a range of limiting criteria to protect consumers.
