Submission on the impact of Renewable Energy Zones on rural and regional communities in NSW

The JEC provided a submission to the NSW Parliamentary Committee for Regional NSW’s Inquiry into the impact of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) on rural and regional communities and industries in NSW.

Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) are critical to an orderly energy transition and to securing the future affordability and sustainability of energy for all NSW consumers.

Our submission included comment and feedback on:

  • the importance of the NSW Net Zero Plan for the NSW economy;
  • energy affordability in rural and regional NSW;
  • the importance of robust community engagement;
  • benefits of the energy transition for NSW communities; and
  • benefits of the energy transition for NSW industries
